Thema: Hoger Onderwijs 3.0

Er is heel wat gaande in hoger onderwijsland waar wij als onderwijskundig adviseurs, beleidsmedewerkers, onderwijsonderzoekers en docententrainers dagelijks mee te maken hebben.

Het hoger onderwijs wordt sterk gedomineerd door vraagstukken rond het verhogen van het rendement en het borgen van de onderwijskwaliteit. Daarnaast moet het ook meer diversiteit in doelgroepen bedienen en nieuwe technologieën gebruiken. Veel uitdagingen voor de onderwijsinnovatie en voor de onderwijsorganisatie, en wat betekenen die voor de professionalisering van onderwijsgevenden en wat voor de rol van onderwijsadviseurs en onderwijsbeleidsmedewerkers? En dit alles in tijden waarin het hoger onderwijs onder grote druk staat en iedereen te kampen heeft met organisatieveranderingen en bezuinigingen.

Bij dezen herinneren wij u aan de aankondiging van de jaarlijkse EHON-conferentie die zoals u waarschijnlijk al weet door de Open Universiteit en Hogeschool Zuyd georganiseerd wordt op 7 juni 2012. Deze conferentie is de gelegenheid om met collega’s in het hoger onderwijs over al deze onderwerpen van gedachten te wisselen en om te kijken hoe de verschillende instellingen omgaan met deze uitdagingen.

De EHON-conferentie 2012 vindt plaats op het terrein van de Open Universiteit in Heerlen en heeft als thema ‘Hoger Onderwijs 3.0’. U kunt alle informatie over de conferentie vinden op www.ou.nl/web/hoger-onderwijs-3.0. Wij hebben een gevarieerd programma samengesteld waarin uitgebreid wordt ingegaan op de huidige en toekomstige ontwikkelingen in het hoger onderwijs en waarin voldoende ruimte is ingebouwd voor gedachtewisseling en inspiratie.

Via dit bericht willen wij u graag uitnodigen om deze conferentie bij te wonen. U kunt zich, als u dit nog niet gedaan hebt, aanmelden met behulp van het aanmeldformulier dat u vindt op www.ou.nl/web/hoger-onderwijs-3.0/aanmeldformulier. De prijs van de conferentie is € 175,- voor niet-EHON-leden en € 150,- voor EHON-leden. Uw aanmelding wordt definitief na overschrijving van het bedrag.

Wij willen u ook vragen om deze uitnodiging binnen uw eigen organisatie te verspreiden.

The general aim of the ICED2012 Conference is to become an international meeting point for participants to reflect and exchange ideas and experiences in researching and supporting educational development at different levels from classroom to national scales. The experiences of scholars in many countries, especially those in Asia and ASEAN, will be shared with scholars from other parts of the world. The sharing of best practice in the development of higher education will be most valuable for rethinking of quality learning and teaching paradigms for all parts of the world.

4. Other

Submissions and Abstracts

We invite the submission of abstracts for consideration by the peer review panel for one or more of the following types of sessions in the conference: paper, workshop or poster.

Papers should report research findings, or discuss evidence-based practice, or critically assess policy or practice. Papers may be clustered and presented in shared sessions (20, 30 or 60 minutes, including discussion time).

Workshops should be action-oriented (60 minutes). They should include a short input (up to 15 minutes) and activities for delegates to participate in. They should be of interest and relevance to a wide audience Please include a timetable showing the design of the event.

Posters should be A0 in size (portrait layout) and present summary information about your work in a visual or text format in a way that is of interest to the conference participants. You will be asked to talk about your poster during networking sessions.

Abstracts should include title and speaker names, and the name of a key contact. They should be no more than 200 words. They will be published in the Conference programme.

Peer review process

All abstracts will be reviewed anonymously by two peer reviewers and the final selection of the successful contributions will be made by the conference organising committee. You will be informed of the outcome by March 15th 2012

Pre-conference workshops 22^nd July

There is a separate call for proposals for Pre-Conference Workshops which will be held on 22^nd July 2012. The deadline for proposals is also 29^th February 2012.

Change Academy 2012-13: Call for submissions

Higher education institutions from the UK and overseas are invited to submit proposals for Change Academy 2012-13, the HEA’s flagship institutional change programme.

Delivered in partnership with the Leadership Foundation for Higher Education, Change Academy is a year-long process that brings together cross-institutional teams and gives them time and space to think creatively and develop a major change initiative. This is a unique, high quality process for professional learning which provides tools and approaches that can be cascaded more widely across your institution, supporting both rapid innovation and capacity-building for longer-term change.

Change Academy has been successfully delivered since 2004, with over 100 teams having taken part to date. Comments from previous participants part include:

“Change Academy has been a highlight for me this academic year and I’m looking forward to going back to the University to put in place many of the things we’ve agreed we’ll do over the next six months to a year.”

Pre-conference workshops – Call for proposals

ICED pre-conference workshops are professional development events to improve the practice of educational and academic developers.

They are offered by experienced academic and educational developers from the membership of ICED’s national networks.

They are practical, engaging, participatory half-day workshops which are designed to develop skills and share experience amongst the participants.

We are expecting to be able to offer six or eight three-hour workshops on Sunday 22nd July.

Proposals:

Colleagues who wish to offer a workshop are asked to submit a proposal covering the following areas:

The educational or academic development theme of the workshop.

The intended learning outcomes for the participants

The timetable of the workshop and the educational strategy for its design.

The IT and other resources required.

The proposal should contain a text of no more than 500 words which can be used in the conference programme and web site to advertise the workshop to participants.

Proposals should be sent by February 15th to the ICED Administrator, Silvia Sovic, s.sovic@icedonline.net

Proposers will be informed whether their offer has been accepted by February 22nd.

Please note:

As well as quality, a factor in the selection of proposals will be the need to ensure a range of activities and avoidance of duplication.

There is no payment for workshop leaders; fees charged to participants contribute to funding of ICED’s work worldwide.

Offering a pre- conference workshop does not preclude submitting a seminar or workshop abstract to the conference on a similar theme.

Themabijeenkomst Meer met minder

Na de jaarvergadering van het EHON op 30 september, was de themabijeenkomst gewijd aan “meer met minder”. Tijdens de workshop hebben we gewerkt met de kleuren van verandering (naar De Caluwé en Vermaak) en hebben we geoefend met ‘out-of-the-box-denken’ met behulp van kleuren. Hieronder de presentaties die de revue zijn gepasseerd. Het was een inspirerende workshop.

Oproep voor bijdragen

Met groot genoegen nodigen we U uit voor de jaarlijkse Onderwijs Research Dagen 2011 (ORD-2011) met als thema Passie voor Leren. Deze vinden plaats op 8, 9 en 10 juni 2011 op de Binnenstad Campus van de Universiteit Maastricht. Op de ORD 2011 kunt U bijdragen verwachten binnen de gebruikelijke thema’s als bijvoorbeeld Leren & Instructie, Curriculum, Methodologie en Evaluatie, en Onderwijs en Samenleving. Bovendien is er speciale aandacht voor het thema “Leren & Professie” dat vanuit de Universiteit Maastricht wordt ingebracht.

U kunt uw voorstellen voor de Onderwijs Research Dagen 2011 indienen via de ORD2011 website:

De deadline voor het indienen van voorstellen is 17 januari 2011. Uiterlijk op 1 april 2011 krijgt u bericht of uw voorstel geaccepteerd is.
